Pateadores Costa Rica soccer trip - flagDo you have a team full of adventurers? Are your athletes as skilled at soccer as they are at conquering new and exciting trails, terrain, and obstacles? If so, you should start booking your soccer trip to Costa Rica right now!

CDA SLAMMERS Girls U16 team worked closely with Costa Rica Soccer Tours to plan an incredible 10-day trip to Costa Rica. In addition to five challenging matches against local soccer teams, the girls would travel across the country, experiencing the culture, landscape, and nature that has made Costa Rica such a desirable travel destination.

On their first full day in the capital city of San José, the girls immediately hit the trails for an amazing hike to the La Paz Waterfalls. Along the trail, they saw countless species of birds, an insect exhibit, a butterfly observatory, and plenty of monkeys.

After the hike, the team prepared for their first friendly match against Moravia. They worked up quite an appetite after their busy first day, and all of the girls were ready for a restful night’s sleep after dinner at the hotel.

The trip was filled with many more adventures, including a zip line tour over the canopy of the San Carlos Rainforest, a walk along the infamous Hanging Bridges, an opportunity to swim beneath the La Fortuna Waterfall, and a relaxing catamaran tour at the Pacific Beach, followed by an evening on the shore.

Pateadores Costa Rica soccer trip - volunteerCosta Rica Soccer Tours firmly believes in the importance of introducing our tour groups to the rich and vibrant Costa Rican culture. During their visit, the girls partook in a walking tour of San Jose, which included a stop at a local market.

The team also volunteered for a community service activity, which benefited the local community and allowed the girls to interact more closely with the local population. They also toured a coffee plantation on the fertile slopes of Alajuela, where they learned where their favorite caffeinated beverage comes from!

Mixed into all of these adventures were four more friendly matches against San Carlos, Liberia, Dimas, and Codea. CDA SLAMMERS learned plenty of new plays, moves, and tricks to take home with them, and all of the teams enjoyed getting to know each other after every game.
